Limited Warranty Policy

Coverage Overview

Coretron Optoelectronics Inc. (“Coretron”) warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service conditions, subject to the terms and exclusions below.

This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured or supplied by Coretron and installed, operated, and maintained within their specified electrical, environmental, and application ratings.

Warranty Period

Standard Products
Standard Coretron products carry a five (5) year limited warranty from the date of shipment.

Extended-Warranty Products
Certain products may carry an extended limited warranty of up to ten (10) years from the date of shipment where specifically stated on the product specification sheet, quotation, or applicable warranty documentation.

The warranty period applicable to each product is determined by the applicable Coretron product documentation or quotation.

Warranty Conditions

Warranty coverage applies only when all of the following conditions are met:

Proper Installation and Use
The product must be installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with Coretron’s published installation instructions, wiring diagrams, product specifications, and all applicable electrical and building codes.
Intended Application
The product must be used within the intended application and environmental ratings stated in the product documentation, including voltage, ambient temperature, indoor/damp/wet location rating, and IP rating where applicable.
Compatible Components and Controls
Products must be used with compatible drivers, power supplies, controls, dimming systems, accessories, and other components.
Unauthorized modification, repair, or use with incompatible components may void warranty coverage.
Proof of Purchase
Warranty claims require proof of purchase showing the applicable invoice, order number, or other documentation reasonably requested by Coretron.

Warranty Remedies

If Coretron determines that a product has a defect covered by this Limited Warranty, Coretron may, at its sole discretion:

Repair the defective product or component;
Replace the defective product or component with the same, equivalent, or functionally comparable product; or
Issue a credit up to the original purchase price of the affected product.

Replacement products or components are covered only for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Coretron may use new, refurbished, equivalent, or functionally comparable components when fulfilling warranty obligations.

Warranty Exclusions

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage, failure, or costs resulting from:

Improper installation, wiring, handling, storage, or maintenance;
Incorrect application or use outside published product specifications;
Operation outside specified voltage, current, temperature, or environmental conditions;
Incompatible or non-approved drivers, power supplies, controls, dimming systems, or components;
Electrical surges, lightning, abnormal electrical conditions, power fluctuations, or electrical supply issues;
Unauthorized alteration, modification, repair, or disassembly;
Physical damage, impact, abuse, misuse, negligence, or site-related damage;
Excessive heat, moisture, chemical exposure, corrosion, contamination, or environmental conditions outside the product rating;
Normal wear, normal lumen depreciation, or cosmetic changes that do not materially affect product operation;
Force majeure events or other circumstances beyond Coretron’s reasonable control.

Unless expressly agreed by Coretron in writing, this Limited Warranty does not include:

Field labour or service charges;
Removal or reinstallation costs;
Lifts, scaffolding, equipment rentals, or access costs;
Ceiling, drywall, millwork, painting, or other building repair costs;
Travel or accommodation expenses;
After-hours service costs;
Freight or shipping related to warranty claims; or
Other contractor, consultant, or third-party costs.

Warranty Claim / RMA Procedure

To initiate a warranty claim, please provide:

Coretron invoice or order number;
Product model number and serial number, if applicable;
Description of the issue;
Details of the installation and operating environment; and
Photos, videos, test results, or other information reasonably required to evaluate the claim.

Coretron may require the affected product to be returned for inspection or testing before determining warranty coverage.

No product should be returned without prior written authorization from Coretron.

Issuance of an RMA does not constitute confirmation that a product is defective or covered under warranty.

Coretron will determine warranty eligibility following evaluation of the claim and, where required, inspection of the affected product.

Shipping and RMA Costs

Unless otherwise approved by Coretron in writing, the customer is responsible for freight, shipping, handling, duties, taxes, and other costs associated with submitting or returning products for warranty evaluation.

Where a product is confirmed by Coretron to be defective and covered under warranty, Coretron will provide the applicable warranty remedy described above.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Coretron shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from the products or their use, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of use, project delay costs, or third-party claims.

Coretron’s aggregate liability relating to any affected product shall not exceed the amount originally invoiced by Coretron for that product, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

This Limited Warranty constitutes Coretron’s warranty obligation for the products and is subject to all rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Warranty Administration

Coretron reserves the right to revise this Limited Warranty from time to time. Revised warranty terms apply to products sold after the effective date of the revision unless otherwise agreed by Coretron in writing.
